The spirit continues to move in wonderful ways in the
minds and hearts of women whom religious life may be a life-giving
choice.
A woman who desires to become a Mission Helper of the Sacred
Heart prepares for perpetually professed membership by completing
guided stages of development: postulancy, novitiate, and
temporary profession. Perpetually professed Sisters are
appointed to direct our formation program.
We inform and We Invite - We Listen - We ask Questions
- We Tell Stories
During the time of postulancy a woman receives a general
knowledge and experience of the Mission Helpers of the Sacred
Heart, our history, charism, ministry, and prayer life within
the context of life in community.
Jesus as the Center - Love Through Service - Purpose in
life
The novitiate is an opportunity for the novice to develop
her relationship with Christ through prayer, study and service.
Novices experience and study the Mission Helper's spirit
so that they may relate their own call to that of our community.
The Mission Helper novitiate is two years.
Connecting the Vision and Mission of the Community
The ordinary duration of temporary vows is three years.
This time provides the Sister with an opportunity to experience
and integrate community life and ministry. A Formation Director
is designated to help her continue to integrate the personal,
spiritual, and apostolic dimensions of her life. After completing
at least three years of temporary profession, a Sister may
be admitted to perpetual vows.
Sense of Ownership in Shaping the Future
Since the main emphasis in our formation program is on
the incorporation of the person into the Mission Helper
Community, the educational, ministerial, communal and spiritual
experiences are planned on an individual basis according
to the needs and circumstances of the person.
