We are women and men who witness to the compassionate and
reconciling spirit of Jesus through people-to-people ministry
to the poorest of the poor by living in community, prayer
and apostolic service with the Sisters, Mission Helpers
of the Sacred Heart.
We come from different regions of Venezuela. Some of us
remain in our professional careers as we offer to be part
of a pastoral team on a part time basis, while others are
part of the pastoral team full time. Almost all participate
in the community celebrations during August, Christmas and
Holy Week.
Where do we minister?
We are in Manzanita, Archdiocese of Barquisimeto, State
of Lara. We minister in Manzanita and its fourteen adjoining
villages with the Mission Helpers, who live among the people
and coordinate the pastoral mission of Manzanita.
What is our ministry?
Listening to the existing and pressing needs of the communities
we respond together and grow together by: home visitations,
preparation for and participation in liturgical celebrations,
marriage counseling, catechetical classes for children,
youth and adults, human development through social works
especially directed toward children, youth and the elderly.
We try to be a pastoral presence to people in their daily
lives.
What supports us as Partners in Ministry/Misioneros Laicos?
Our shared life of apostolic service among the poorest
of the poor, simple lifestyle in community, and our personal
relationship with God nourishes us in the midst of the daily
hardships of our people. We are enriched by this mutual
experience.
