Prayer Resources during time of pandemic

Join the Mission Helper Sisters in prayer…..Now, more than ever we long to reach out to others and offer our assistance, and yet we may feel powerless to do so.  We can unite in prayer and solidarity, and so we offer this suggestion as one way to unite our voices in prayer.

We are suggesting that on each Friday sometime during the hours of 1 – 3 p.m., we pause to take time to offer these prayers uniting in heart, mind and soul with each other and all our sisters and brothers throughout the globe during this time of the coronavirus pandemic.  As we close our prayer on each Friday let us pray:  Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place our trust in You.

We also invite you to use the Vatican News Channel for live masses and messages from Pope Francis:  Vatican New Channel

Prayer for Our Country and Our World

Immaculate Mother Mary, under whose protection this nation has been placed, watch over and guide us.

May our leaders seek God’s will in all decisions with concerns for the powerless, the poor, the abandoned, the sick, and the aged.

Guide us in the long and hard journey to create a world where beyond our own shores and our own needs and hurts, we will do justice, love tenderly, and walk humbly with each other and our God.

Pope Francis’ Prayer to Mary during the coronavirus pandemic

O Mary,
you always shine on our path
as a sign of salvation and of hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick,
who at the cross took part in Jesus’ pain, keeping your faith firm.
You, Salvation of the Roman People,
know what we need,
and we are sure you will provide
so that, as in Cana of Galilee,
we may return to joy and to feasting
after this time of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love,
to conform to the will of the Father
and to do as we are told by Jesus,
who has taken upon himself our sufferings
and carried our sorrows
to lead us, through the cross,
to the joy of the resurrection. Amen.

Under your protection, we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God. Do not disdain the entreaties of we who are in trial, but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
